We have access to
guaranteed landowner permits on 2 Cooperative Wildlife
Management Unit’s (CWMU).
A CWMU is a large ranch
typically consisting of 10,000 acres or more.
The CWMU program has allowed
ranchers to enroll their highly desirable wildlife
property into this program as an economic incentive to
the landowners to keep their private range and forest
lands in wildlife habitat rather than succumbing to
development.
Each
CWMU is issued a certain number of guaranteed tags and
is also allowed an extended hunting season.
According to the Utah Wildlife
Division, people hunting on a CWMU generally enjoy
greater hunting success.
